Bio

Position: Asst. Coach

Nick Andersen, a former Fresno City standout, is entering his 11th year as an assistant coach for the Rams.  Andersen's primary focus with Fresno City has been with the defense as well as strength and conditioning development.  He believes that "offense wins games but defense wins championships."  As a coach he hopes to help bring home the state title that eluded him in 2002 as a player. 

Andersen has previously coached U-14 & U-15 boys for the California Odyssey soccer club and women's soccer at Clovis High.  He has also trained various programs and club teams such as the Olympic Development Program.
 
During his playing career Andersen captained Fresno City in 2002 to there 2nd highest national ranking ever finishing No. 4 in the country while receiving 1st Team All-America and Northern California Player of the year honors.  After finishing his playing career at Fresno City, Andersen transferred to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he played two years for the Mustangs.

A native of Fresno, Andersen played at Clovis High.  He received a bachelor's degree in kinesiology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, a master's degree in kinesiology and a masters degree in physical therapy at Fresno State, and a doctorate in physical therapy at Fresno State and UCSF.
