Assistant Coach:Throws and Hammer

Casey Ballinger,

Coach Ballinger enters his second season at Fresno City College, as men & women throwers’ Coach. 

In 2019 season, Coach Ballinger helps guide his athlete to an outstanding performance in the Throws. Ballinger coached the RAMS athletes, Kevin Ward in the Hammer Throw to the second farthest mark in California and 7th farthest in the Country with a throw of 54.04m, Hugo Santana in the Discus and Hammer Throw to finish with the 6th farthest mark in the state and 12th in the Country with a throw of 53.13m in the hammer, Satvir Cheema in the Discus Throw, and Jennifer Morales-Martinez in the women Hammer Throw. Coach Ballinger helped guide Kevin Ward to earn the torch of excellence award and to be nominee scholar athlete of the year.

In 2018, his first season at the helm of the men’s and women’s program, Coach Ballinger helped lead the Rams to a strong outing during championship season. Ballinger brought three athletes to the NorCal Championships, and each athlete placed in the top 6. An outstanding performance advanced Freshmen Samantha Penticost to the State Championship. Samantha ranked first-place in the State of California, and third-place in the Country in the women hammer throw. 

Prior to coach at Fresno City College, Coach Ballinger was an assistant Coach at the Merced College Track and Field, specializing in the throws. In his first season he helped three student-athletes advancing onto the State Championship, and two of the athletes earning All American Honors. 

During his two years (2010-2012) at Modesto College, coach Ballinger competed in throws finished in second-place at the State Championship, and became hammer throw All-American.
