Women’s water polo plays tough games at Mt. San Antonio tournament
The Fresno City College women's water polo team posted a 1-3 record in tough games last weekend (9/22-23) at the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational in Southern California.
Friday, sophomore Aneesha Nagra scored two goals in a 7-9 loss to Palomar College. FCC also was upset by Cypress College 5-11; sophomore Olivia Mckray scored two coals off a counter attack breakaway and off an outside drive.
The Rams posted the lone victory Saturday against El Camino College. Freshman Alison Baker dominated the 13-9 win with eight goals while freshman Candice Islas had four saves from the goal.
In the Rams' final game of the tournament, Grossmont College took a 13-6 win. Nagra played a crucial role in the Rams' effort by creating power plays for her teammates and also scoring one goal. Freshman Macayla Robbins and Baker both scored two goals from the two-meter position.
