2022 CCCAA Cross Country State Championships
Caliska Avila finished 28th with a PR of 19:29.3 (3.1 Miles) at State Championships
Caliska Avila, the lady Rams stated the season late but worked her way to CCCAA State Championships this Saturday, November 19th at Woodward Park, Fresno. For her first on the queen distance, she began her season on one of the toughest courses in cross country history "Mt Sac" and pulled it out by finishing 14th with a time of 19:59.2 in 3 Miles. It's a return to the foreground. Two weeks later, at the Central Valley Championships, Caliska Avila once again lead the women Rams to a third place at the conference and ran 20:24.1 to finish at 6th place. Caliska reappeared in full light that Wednesday morning during CVC Championships. She help the women Rams qualify to the NorCal Regionals at Fortuna, CA.
Back this season with a new personal record on a 3.1 Miles in Woodward Park in October (20:24.1), she was able to stay focus and get ready for the next race the NorCal Regionals at Fortuna, CA. In the northern weather cold and rain, she ran tough and did not let the rain sabotaging her form with a time of 22:12 (5k) by finishing 14th overall, which is synonym of qualification to the CCCAA State Championships at Fresno, CA.
Back again in the foreground after two weeks devoted to her practice and academic work, Caliska Avila saw herself again on a familiar territory Woodward Park. Already sixth in the Central Valley Championships about a month ago (Oct. 26), Caliska displays a very promising form as she is lining up for the CCCAA State Championships Final. Woodward Park again made it possible to run fast again this Saturday. In this density, the lady Rams Caliska Avila was able to do well. She ran her personal best clocking at 19:29.3 and took 28th place overall. She will wrap up her cross country season with a PR. Great job lady Rams, and good luck.
