Bio

Head Coach Paul Keysaw is in his 12th season with the Fresno City College wrestling team. Keysaw has led a dominant program to six state championship titles (2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016) along with three runner-up finishes (2013, 2014 and 2015) and one third-place finish (2009).

Keysaw’s lengthy and award-winning career began to take off at Athens High School in Athens, PA. In 1986, he wrapped up an undefeated season by winning the Pennsylvania State High School Championship at 155 pounds. That same year, he finished third at the Junior Nationals at 178 pounds.

In college, Keysaw wrestled for California State University, Bakersfield, where he was the 1991 NCAA Division 1 National Champion at 190 pounds and a two-time NCAA Division 1 All-American. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies (1992) and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction (1995) from the university.

Keysaw began his coaching career as an assistant at Bakersfield College (1991-95). He then moved on to become head coach at Moorpark College (1996-2005), where he directed a wrestling program that won three state championships (1997, 1999 and 2000) and finished second in 2001.

At Fresno City College, Keysaw has led the wrestling program since 2006. In 2016, he was named California Community College Head Coach of the Year – an honor he has won five times at Fresno City and eight times in his coaching career.

Keysaw and his wife, Kimberly, married in 1996. They have two children: Zackary, a senior at Buchanan High School, and Sydney, a junior at Buchanan.
