Bio

David has been the athletic trainer at Fresno City College since July of 2019. He started his

early career in athletic training as an observation student at Fresno City in the very room he now

works out of now. He received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from CSU-Fresno in

2014. David also spent time as the certified athletic trainer with the Fresno Fuego and was the

athletic trainer for the inaugural season for the Fresno Freeze. While working with the amateur

soccer teams, David was the athletic trainer for McLane High school in Fresno for 3 years.

David received his master’s degree in kinesiology from CSU-Fresno in 2018 after leaving

McLane high school for Fresno’s first professional soccer team, Fresno Football Club. David’s

time with Fresno FC lasted two seasons before accepting the athletic training position at Fresno

City College.

David has experience in multiple techniques such as instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization

(IASTM),cupping, massage, and muscle energy techniques. His master’s project was on

emergency preparedness in athletics and physical activity and he emphasizes being prepared

as often as he can in and around his profession. He is also a local wizard with a 128C tuning

fork at detecting small fractures.

He has been around sports his entire life and credits his mother and father for their professional

knowledge in social work and sociology and medical career pathways for guiding him to the

profession of athletic training. David enjoys talking about his profession and educating those

around him in what athletic trainers are and what they can do.
