Tradition of Excellence
Fresno City College Athletics A Tradition of Excellence
RECEPTION FOR CHAMPIONS LINK (01/09/2018)
Fresno City College is California's first established Community College (1910). And saying FCC has a rich "Tradition of Excellence" in athletics, is an understatement. Our Rams have marked 53 TEAM STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, 114 INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, and 357 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS in the history of our athletic programs.
Within our 20 intercollegiate participating sports programs, 418 student-athletes represented FCC in 2016 CCCAA competitions. In total, we serve roughly 480 student-athletes on an annual basis. A large portion of these kids come to us from within the State of California and our Central Valley.
Collectively our FCC Athletic Department houses a passionate group of 82 employees (Administrators, Coaches, Support Staff), who's goal is to maintain our culture of "Tradition of Excellence" by serving our student-athletes and our community of Fresno.
In 2012, the FCC Athletic Department received the inaugural crowning achievement in college athletics, the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup which honors institutions maintaining a broad-based program, achieving success in many sports, both men’s and women’s.
Every year our student-athlete population is completing their degrees and transfering to the 4-year University/College level at a rate that is frequently higher than that of the regular student body.
