Eric Solberg

Bio

Head coach Ron Scott quickly points toward Solberg as one key reason why the Rams have continued the high degree of success started by Len Bourdet in 1958. Solberg’s guidance of FCC pitchers through the past 20 plus seasons has resulted in four of them (Shad Williams, Bill Simas, Ted Lilly and Jaime Cerda) reaching the major leagues. This has enhanced and solidified his reputation as a premier pitching coach.

A fulltime member of the FCC physical education department, Solberg has done an outstanding job as head men’s soccer coach when he isn’t teaching the FCC pitchers what it takes to be successful on the mound.

"Eric is the backbone of our baseball program. He has the uncanny ability to improve pitchers both physically and mentally. He prepares them for the next level. He has had a major impact on the success of FCC baseball," said coach Scott.

He and his wife, Paige reside in Fresno. Their older daughter Erica and her husband, Micah, live in Fresno and have blessed the Solbergs with two grandchildren. Younger daughter, Kelly resides in Eugene, Oregon with her husband and former Ram Mitch Karraker.
