Rams Start Strong!
The Fresno City College Softball team secured their first victory of the season against the Renegades from Bakersfield College.
The Fresno City College Softball team secured their first victory of the season at the FCC Softball Diamond on Monday, January 28th. Led by first year Head Coach Haley Janzer, the Rams outscored Bakersfield College by nine runs, resulting in a 13-4 mercy ending the game after the top of the fifth inning.
Sophomore pitcher Kaitlyn Delgadillo had the start for the Rams. The Renegades scored the first run of the game after a lead off single, and an RBI by the end of the first inning. Sophomore Teya Vincent didn't hesitate to respond hitting a leadoff home run to score the first run for the Rams. Fresno City continued to add on runs with a home run by freshman Mary Mets, and a towering grand slam by sophomore Emily Puente in the fourth inning.
Collectively, the Rams scored 13 runs on 12 hits in just five innings, winning their first game of the season. The Rams next home games will be a double-header against Monterey Peninsula College at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 29.
