The season is bright for the ladies Rams, particularly the thrower Ivy Duong.
Highly anticipated the lady Rams Ivy Duong won the Sunbird invitational this Saturday in Hammer throw. Indubitable, the Season is going well for Ivy Duong. She came for that. Arriving Saturday morning with her teammates, she announced that she wanted to improve her marks from last week, and she delivered.
Author of her personal best last week at the Battle of the Regions at Bakersfield college in discus throw 40.32m (132-3), and 48.30m (158-5) in the Hammer, the Lady Rams once again shone this Saturday. Encouraged by her audience, Ivy Duong made a smashing throw competition this season with her best performance of the season in the Hammer and Discus throws after just two meets. She won the Sunbird invitational competition in Hammer throw thanks to a toss at 51.09m (167-7), went 3rd place in the Discus throw 42.91m (140-9), and 3rd place in the Shot Put 10.30m (33-9.5). Her teammate Briana Brugetti contented herself with 5th place in the Shot Put 9.90m (32-5.75) and 6th place in the Hammer with a toss at 38.49m (126-3).
On the track, the ladies Rams also ran fantasticly, with their personal best in 1500m. Betzabe Baustita-Castro ran personal best with a time of 6:01.40, and Selena Garay ran her personal best as well with a time of 6:05.34.
