Rams Win Game 1 of Regionals.

Sara Barbosa provided the Fresno City College softball team with a quality start and earned the shutout Win.
Her teammates backed her as Jayden Herrera and Jade Huerta hit home runs to power the eighth-seeded Rams to a 5-0 victory over No. 9 Cosumnes River in the first round of the Northern California regionals on Friday afternoon.
One more win will send Fresno City to the second round against the winner between top-seed West Valley or No. 16 Taft.
For now, Barbosa had command from the first pitch to the last.
"I noticed our defense came together a lot today,' said Barbosa, who pitched a two-hitter and had two strikeouts. "We came back and just played together."
A slide defensive catch by Lexi Rossotti in the fifth inning was one of the highlights the Rams took away.
Fresno City got on the board first when Herrera launched a home run to left field in the bottom of the third inning and gave the Rams a 1-0 lead.
Huerta then powered a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to highlight a four-run inning.
"I thought I needed to relax," Huerta said. "Just have an easy approach and not think too much. I was looking outside, but saw a good pitch down the middle and we were just going to go for it."
Saturday's first pitch is set for noon, followed by game 3, if necessary, 30 minutes later.
